While I’m on the subject (London Underground),
there’s a game in town which aim is to guess animals shape by reading the London underground map. I heard about that last year may be and didn’t give any attention until I found myself (thinking of) spotting a kind-of animal-ish shape while looking at the map.
Of course I dismissed such a though instantly blaming the usual suspects (tiredness, end-of-the-day-syndrom, drunken-state, put-your-own-excuse-here,…)
And then I found this web site.
Ok, am I reinsured?
not sure,
let’s say yes, it’s so more fun that way.

Unfortunately I’ve never come across these signs in the London underground.
I guess I would have (almost) died laughting rolling on the floor otherwise:

Superb shot by Nachosan; quite unusual, and the lighting is perfect

Amazing. Several of my colleagues and former colleagues are flying to Amsterdam to talk at XTech 2006. I don’t think I’ll be able to attend as I’ve planned several days off, days after the conference and other stuff.
The schedule for the conference could be read here

On Wednesday I went to the Royal Opera House to see a ballet.
It was Prokofiev’s Romeo And Juliet.
I’ve never been to a ballet before, and after that I’m still not a big fan (and I don’t like when I don’t see the musicians), but
- The performance of the lead female dancer was absolutely fantastic
- the costumes, lighting and set were beautiful
- the Royal Opera House is a beautiful hall, more intimate than the Royal Albert Hall, as beautiful as Wigmore Hall.

A beautiful photo taken by a fellow flickrer and londoner.
The light and shadow are fantastic.
The scenery is beautiful and relaxing

A great photo of Cancun by a fellow flickr user, Peter Bowers. The colors are fantastic, and the wooden posts look almost as alive and as if they are admiring the sunset. Great work.

Going to Etech, SXSW?
That’s so “pass”. The place to be is of course the Ideal Home Show ….
There, I’ve seen the mundane, the boring but also some great ideas to feed my dreams.
things I liked includes:
* aqarium as furniture
* A double oven range cooker: I *want* one. But I need the room for it. May be I need a new house then.
* Decorative use of wax crystals

This is a great band. I discovered their album “Sympathique” 2 years ago.
It is beautiful, it has an nostalgic aspect and is a blend of classical and latin.
They are in concert in London at the Barbican at the end of the month.
I won’t miss it.
